SteamVR HTC Vive Performance Test

I tried the HTC Vive as well as the Oculus consumer headsets at a number of London Meetups.  I got love for room scale…  so… blew up my bank account and have the HTC Vive on pre-order.  Should be receiving it next month (April 2016).  Valve have a test application that can provide you with an idea of how your hardware will cope with the next generation of consumer VR.  My PC’s test results suggest that I am going to need to update the old graphics card to do the experience some justice!  To be honest, I knew this was coming.  Seriously considering ebaying off my “old stuff”!

Presence in Virtual Reality

Check out Michael Abrash’s slides from a Steam Developer Day (from back in Jan 2014, but I only just discovered it now):

Interesting read.

EDIT 21st March 2014.  Found the accompanying YouTube video.  Enjoy 🙂

Also, just uploaded some footage from the SXSW Game of Thrones experience.  Grab a copy here Hipster Squid if you want to check it out (http://www.hipstersquid.com/).  I found various issues with this demo, but the concept is interesting and (in particular) interesting that such a large franchise are looking at VR.
